Electronic DPW FBI Fingerprint Information

• After you have completed your online application, American DataBank will send you a Registration ID to the E-Mail address you provided on the order form. (Please Note: It may take 24-48 hours before American DataBank will send you your Registration ID)
• You will need the Registration ID to conduct your electronic FBI Fingerprinting at an Electronic Fingerprint Services Location (EFSL). Please have this with you at the time of your appointment.
• We have listed Electronic Fingerprint Service Locations below.

• Electronic FBI Fingerprinting is processed by Cogent.

**Very Important**

Your results will be sent to you by mail from the PA Department of Public Welfare. It may take around 2-3 weeks to receive them.

You are required to provide a copy of your results to American DataBank. American DataBank does NOT receive a copy from the Department of Public Welfare.

DPW Rolled FBI Fingerprinting
For Students CURRENTLY LIVING OUTSIDE of Pennsylvania

After you have completed your online order application American DataBank will mail you a FBI Fingerprint packet and will also register you with the PA Department of Public Welfare. Usually this packet is received within 3-5 business days of completing your online order application. Detailed instructions on how to complete this portion of your background check will be included in your packet as well as the FBI Fingerprint form that is needed to complete your FBI Fingerprint Record Search.

If you have paid for your background check via money order, American DataBank will not mail your packet until this has been received.

Instructions On Completing Your FBI Fingerprinting

• Please visit http://www.myfbireport.com/locations/index.php to find a FBI Fingerprint location near you or take the FBI Fingerprint Card that was included in your information packet to your Local Police Department.
• It is recommended that you call the location before getting your fingerprints rolled. Below are some questions that you may want to ask before going.
  1. Do I need an appointment?
  2. What hours do you conduct fingerprinting?
  3. Do you conduct Ink based fingerprints or electronic?
  4. If you do electronic, can a copy of the electronic fingerprints be printed onto an FBI Fingerprint Card?
  5. What is your fee for fingerprinting?
     **Please Note:** The fingerprinting fee that indivudal companies charge to roll your prints WAS NOT included in your package.
• Once the FBI Fingerprint Card has been completed you will need to mail it back to American DataBank at:

• Once American DataBank receives your completed FBI Fingerprint Card, we will then process the card and the registration with the PA Department of Public Welfare.
• The results will be returned to you directly. You are REQUIRED to send a copy of the results to ADB to record.
